Environmental Policy
We aim to minimise our carbon footprint using the 3R principles - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
We Reduce our carbon footprint by operating from a small home office, using energy-saving appliances and lighting, operating an energy efficient company vehicle with a small engine, using public transport whenever possible and attempting to operate a green purchasing policy (although this is not always possible in Hong Kong).
We operate using e-mail whenever we can, and we do not own a fax machine. Paper and envelopes are sourced from sustainable forests and Reused whenever possible.
Paper products, plastics, cans, bottles and even clothing and safety helmets are Recycled locally.
We do not entertain at restaurants which serve shark fin or endangered reef fish, and we attempt to be good and responsible corporate citizens.

Our Carbon Offset Scheme
Despite the efforts described above, the company still generates around 23 tonnes of CO2 annually, mostly from unavoidable air travel in support of our customers. We offset this whenever possible, normally by signing up for airline offset schemes and planting trees locally.
Charitable Work
Our stated aim is to take only as much as we need from the company. Any profits remaining after paying our way and retaining a modest float are used to support a number of charities. The amounts available vary, but we make a fixed monthly payment to WWF Hong Kong, and an annual donation to the Missions to Seafarers in support of their Christmas appeal.
In an act of blatant nepotism, we were a sponsor of Causeway Bay rugby club (club captain Mark Loynd) for two seasons. Causeway Bay is a first division team, with the majority of players being born and bred in Hong Kong.
In 2012 we started to sponsor the Tuvalu rugby team, which has recently been established in the small nation where our family spent some very happy times and where our youngest daughter was born. We are delighted that Tuvalu’s national rugby teams will carry our logo in future.

In 2008 and 2009 we were able to enter into an agreement with Grace
Charity Foundation to build a badly-needed primary school in a mountain
village in Guizhou Province, PRC, where the existing school building
was dangerous and had been condemned. The school opened in 2010.
We now also sponsor Fasheng, an eight-year-old boy from a poor region of China. Our sponsorship, through Plan International Hong Kong, makes life a little better for Fasheng, his family and his community. There is a link to Plan International HK on this website, and we hope you will have a look at the excellent work they do. Sponsorship is affordable and very rewarding.
